Class Music Video

Roles: Writer, Editor, Director, Cameraman

This music video of "In My Life" by The Beatles was made for class, but also serves as a time capsule for the days that will go by way too fast. I went out with two of my friends, Miles and Alex, to go get Taco Bell for the music video. My initial intent was just to capture a moment in time during college that would eventually feel like a distant memory. However, I encountered a major issue when the Taco Bell was closed two hours earlier than it was supposed to be. On the spot, I suggested we go to Wendy's and just kept rolling with the punches (and my iPhone camera).

Beforehand, I outlined my initial plan to Miles and Alex, and just told them to act like normal. The only truly scripted shot being the ending where I pan to the car stereo playing "In My Life". The result was that every shot felt real, and the music video feels like you're looking from my perspective for the most of it. I wanted the viewer to feel like everything was part of one of their memories. Over the course of the music video, some parts get faster while everything slowly fades to black and white; not only is this meant to show the degradation of memory over time, but it's also an homage to the original music video of "In My Life".
